11 Marketing and Advertising Predictions for 2010

Here is what I predict (in two years or less) :
1 - Over 50% of mobile marketing technology will be founded on location based initiatives (through GPS or cell tower triangulation).
2 - SMS marketing will be the equivalent of SPAM email today.
3 - We will begin to see the reemergence of Flash (or similar HTML5) based websites as the leading development platform. This will be due to the new ways users can interact with websites, on a tablet or via multitouch.
4 - Page based online experiences (mainly websites) will melt away as developers/designers create singular fluid experiences. Think of this transformation similar to the 8-Bit Nintendo (today) vs. World of Warcraft (tomorrow).
5 - We will stop using the term Augmented Reality and instead just refer to it as AR Marketing (or whatever Seth Godin dubs it).
6 - Twitter and Facebook are merely staying in business until they can evolve/develop their advertising platforms that will tap into geolocation on mobile devices. Combined with the current data they can mine it will be a creepy awesome and accurate advertising weapon.
7 - Foursquare will be purchased/absorbed by Twitter or Facebook (or Clear Channel).
8 - Twitter will fall by the wayside if they do not act on #6 or #7
9 - Social Media Experts will face the same fate as all the Viral Marketing Experts. Mobile Marketing Experts will be all the rage.
10 - Google will make a major investment and push into outdoor/environmental advertising systems (a very public push).
11 - RFID/Bluetooth technologies will begin to incorporate with environmental/outdoor displays allowing for customized advertising (Google will manage the network).
