Photographer Captures Cold-Blooded Killer

TEMPE, AZ – Tempe police are investigating the death of Russell Maloney, 26, of Mesa, who was found on the top level of the Hayden Ferry Lakeside parking structure early Tuesday morning.

An image surfaced shortly thereafter which prompted police to search for a second man, Russell Perry, also 26, in connection with the death. The photo appears to depict Perry throwing Maloney off a roof overhang atop the parking garage.

Safely hidden behind a pylon, photographer Diana Rothery watched fearfully as the battle escalated, but through her fear managed to snap this photo.

"That man...he had a crazy look in his eyes – like a wild animal. A badger, or a boar-badger, or something equally ghastly," Rothery recounts.

Posthumous Notice: The events reported to have occurred in this blog post are "just for pretends." Russ Maloney is still very much alive, and Russ Perry is still very much a monstrous boar-badger, or something equally ghastly.

We are hiring (blog post)

Keane is hiring.

We are looking for an industrious designer (maybe two) to come aboard for the next 3-6 months, with work to start around mid- to late-August.

First and foremost, we’re looking for someone with a strong creative background (print/interactive) that knows how to manage projects and client relationships.

Ultimately, we are looking for managers of one (see See 37Signals's - Hire Managers of One post). There’s no room for someone who requires a lot of direction with the nature and pace of our work.

We’re not sure if this is going to be a full-time or part-time position, so you might be able to swing it with another job; however, daytime availability is expected five days a week. Work experience with/within an agency or studio is also required.

Local folks will make things easier, but it certainly isn’t a deal breaker if you’re remote. And finally – there is no promise of permanent employment, but that’s not to say it can’t happen.

What to do next:

First, email over a resume and a cover letter/cover email about what you’re looking for in a creative position and why you’re interested in taking on this new role with Keane. You can email it to jobs [at] keanecreative.com. If you want to sweeten the deal, go into more detail about your interests, your fears, inspirations, friend us on Facebook, send us a tweet, etc.

Second, we’d like to meet you in person (if we haven’t already). We’re hosting a happy hour on July 31st at RA on Mill Ave and it would be a good time to connect with the Keane team and our friends/clients.

Third, if you have a portfolio of any type, send it over as well. PDF or online versions are preferred.

Thanks so much, don’t hesitate to send us any questions!

This Brand Does Not Yet Exist

Spectacular work from Moscow-based BrandStudio for the Lexus RX350 (English version). Visitors access the main site after the intro video plays, but only after actually setting your clock ahead – into the future.

You have to be super-patient for it to load. I imagine it's because Russia is so chilly.

Get to know an Intern - Summer Edition

We'd like to take a minute to profile our Summer intern who has been rocking and rolling for some time now in the Keane offices, Connor McSheffrey! Here's a bit more about the intense looking gentleman pictured above:

At the age of four, my parents and I left Tempe, Arizona, and ventured into the heart of Prague, Czech Republic, as missionaries just a year after the the country split from Czechoslovakia in the Velvet Revolution. Growing up as a missionary kid overseas gave me a cultural experience like nothing else and a much larger perspective of the world. Europe branded me with a passion for travel and culture. Since moving back to Tempe, Arizona, I have had a chance to also intern for several of the coolest web development agencies in Tempe and Chandler, including Perk and Integrum. Working for both of these fine establishments has given me a chance to be involved in a lot of awesome projects and gain the practical workplace knowledge not taught in high school, as well as help fund my passion for photography ;). My hope is to travel back to Europe as much as I can, but until then I will continue to develop websites, climb rocks, take photos, bang drums, drink tea and follow Christ.

Feel free to connect up with Connor on twitter at @mcsheffrey
