Experiments in Augment Reality Advertising

In our ongoing interest in AR (here and here) I discovered what is looking like to be an ongoing and interesting exploration of the new possibilities from The Artvertiser.

Here is their first video where they've taken common public advertising space and explored the possibility of incorporating advertisements onto "virtual canvases" viewed through hand held devices.

Welcome to the Twitterverse

Collaboration between Brian Solis and Jesse Thomas yields v1 of a visualized twitterconomy. Very awesome to get an eyeball on the relationships all at once, but I'm sure you can telll straight away that this is far from complete. With new apps popping up as frequently as dandilions (and some dying just as quickly), the Twitterverse is going to be difficult to keep fresh. Perhaps it's just like our own Milky Way: we live within it and see its heart quite clearly, yet we'll never be able to see it all at once.

We had a very successful first every screen printing class this afternoon! Thanks to everyone who came out. Another beginner class will be scheduled in July and then there will be an advanced class as well.

Keane's First PC

Yes, it is true. A PC floating in our midst.

It belongs to Chad Smith of Being Studios, who's set up shop at Keane to build some absolutely killer 3D for a client project of ours. We'll make a flashy announcement 4-6 weeks from now.

I think we've moved past the initial shock to be truly impressed with this machine. And how could we not – especially after Chad enumerated the specs for us. Says he, "I've got 8 Intel Core i7 CPUs @3 GHz w/ 6 GB of RAM, Nvidia Quatdro FX 3700, over 1 TB of Raid 0 storage, 8x Blu-Ray burner, running a fresh install of XP64, and, of course, a Wacom tablet. I'm Chad and I'm a PC." What a smartass.

Welcome to the Agency World

I fired up this video with a sunny disposition, expecting to chuckle at an industry in-joke. But all I could do was shake my head.

Next Sewing Class - June 9th!

Last night I hosted the first sewing class over at the offices and I have to say it was VERY informative. I went from knowing 0% about the machine to knowing how to thread and do basic stitches. We're doing the next on June 9th at 4pm-6pm again, anyone at any level is welcome. Cost is $25 for 2 hours and we provide snacks and beverages!
