New Project Management System Inspired by @fortyagency

Project Management seems like one of the largest hurdles in our industry. When timelines span weeks, even months, there's no 100% perfect solution. Factor in having to manage multiple schedules, people, clients and things can really get messy.

After years of solid Basecamp use, I decided to develop a more hands-on approach. During a lunch with the team at Forty Agency we discussed the pitfalls of online project management. All in all it's just too easy to ignore, not check or let tasks and to-dos accumulate. Even though there's robust reminder systems, those are usually in the form of email and are just as easy to forget about.

With that said we're going to simplify things a bit here at Keane.

The photo below is what I would consider the low-fi pre-alpha version of the new system. The basic idea is simple:

 - Clients have an area on the wall. A larger client gets more space.
- Actionable tasks are placed under their name on post-its as they pop into my head.
- The goal is to never let a client's area get full.

There we go, version 0.1. Supplies used: Whiteboard tape + Post-it notes.

I'll report back next week on how things work out, already it's nice to see things split up.

Nice move! I like the idea of having a way to visually see which client is larger.

Nicely done friends! I like the idea of using whiteboard tape (can't believe I didn't think of that) for the labels. Can easily move them around and not worry about erasing the name off.

Like most things, often the most basic solution is the best solution. Interested to see if this works.

nice! do let me know though when the post-its start falling off the wall. I haven't had much luck with them staying very long

Seems like everything comes back around to where it began. This will work, have no doubt.
